Fort Myer South Post 1943-1944
Fort Belvoir
These three photos were taken by Robert William Nabbe when he was stationed on South Post 1943-1944. His daughter, Melissa, submitted these to us, and she will be sending more info on her father soon.

Fort Myer VA South Post 1943

This shot was taken from near the South Post/Pentagon tunnel, looking west. Enlisted housing units are shown in the foreground and the post gym is to the right. Arlington Cemetery is mostly hidden behind the structures, but the Custis-Lee Mansion is visible on the hill.
We are having trouble lining this shot up..our best guess at this time is that it is a view looking south, with Arlington Ridge Road branching off to the right. The roadway going straight ahead could be 'Avenue of the Trees' which takes one to Higgins Circle.
South Post Fort Myer Sign
A nice looking 'gate' photo, but not enough other detail here to know the location
